Police: Driver was DUI with child in the car

A Lackawanna County driver is facing charges of driving under the influence and endangering the welfare of a child following an incident that occurred at 9:48 p.m. Oct. 24.

State police at Fern Ridge said John Stefanski of Clifton Township was stopped along Route 903 near Lake Road in Kidder Township for a traffic violation. He was found to be under the influence of a significant amount of alcohol, troopers said. Troopers also said Stefanski had his daughter, who is under the age of 18, with him in the vehicle. Charges were filed.
