Megan's Law checks in Schuylkill County

On Wednesday, state police from the Troop L stations of Schuylkill Haven and Frackville, along with members of the Megan's Law Section in Harrisburg, conducted compliance checks in Schuylkill County.

A total of 135 sexual offenders reside in Schuylkill County. Members of this compliance detail checked each of the 135 residential addresses to determine if each offender is compliant with the law. As a result of this detail, troopers have initiated four criminal investigations for non-compliance.

The ultimate goal of the compliance checks is to enhance public safety by ensuring compliance of sexual offenders. Future compliance sweeps will continue to occur unannounced throughout the state.
