Schuylkill man jailed for assault
A Schuylkill County man was jailed for assault and related charges following an incident that occurred about 11 a.m. on Friday.
State police at Frackville said troopers responded to the 600 block of Sunbury Street in Cass Township to a report of an alleged sexual assault/domestic assault.
On scene officers were told by a 29-year-old female from that location that Joshua Rogers, 29, of Minersville, had brandished a knife at the residence and threatened her and her minor daughter.
Rogers was taken into custody and charged with two counts each of terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment. He was arraigned before on-call District Judge James Reily of Pottsville and committed to the county prison after failing to post 10 percent of $10,000 bail.
