Tamaqua woman jailed for assault

A Tamaqua woman was lodged in the Schuylkill County prison in Pottsville on Nov. 12 following a domestic incident in Tamaqua.

Police were dispatched to 108 W. Broad St. at 7:50 p.m. where they were met by a male victim, who said he had been struck in the face with a coat hanger by Ivette Roman, 36.

As officers were speaking with the victim, Roman kept screaming at him. After she refused the officer's requests to stop, she was arrested.

Arraigned before on-call District Judge Anthony Kilker of Shenandoah on charges of simple assault and harassment, she was taken to the prison in lieu of $15,000 percentage bail.
