State police report on Carbon crashes
State police at Lehighton reported on two crashes on Carbon County roads, one involving a state police vehicle.
The crash with the state police vehicle occurred at 10:20 p.m. on Nov. 25 along Harrity Road, near Reber Street, in Franklin Township. Trooper Michale J. Borosh, 40, of Lehighton, was driving a 2015 Ford Explorer northbound when a large deer entered the road in front of him. The vehicle struck the deer. Borosh was not injured and damages were minor to the vehicle.
The second crash was a hit-and-run that occurred at 8:45 p.m. on Nov. 26 along Hawthorne Drive, near Willow Drive, in Penn Forest Township. Troopers said Marcilla B. Jackson, 32, of Jim Thorpe, was driving a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee eastbound when she lost control and struck a tree along the south berm.
After impact the Jeep traveled about 4 feet and struck a second tree. It then traveled about 10 feet and came to final rest along the south berm.
Damages were disabling to the Jeep. Jackson fled the scene but was later located.
Troopers cited Jackson for accidents involving damage to unattended property or vehicle.
