3 injured in Schuylkill crash

Three people were injured in a three-vehicle crash that was reported at 12:29 p.m. on Sunday along Route 183 in North Manheim Township, Schuylkill County.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Connie M. Murphy, 41, of Schuylkill Haven, was driving a 1992 Ford Taurus from the Cressona Mall parking lot while Donna E. Messner, 50, of New Ringgold, was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier northbound.

Tammy J. Tyler, 51, of Schuylkill Haven, was stopped in a 2005 Ford Freestyle exiting a lot at a CVS pharmacy.

Troopers said Murphy traveled across the southbound lane and struck Messner's Cavalier on the driver's side front fender area.

After impact, Murphy's vehicle traveled east for about 50 feet before coming to rest. Messner's vehicle traveled southeast for about 20 feet and struck Tyler's vehicle.

Murphy, a 17-year-old male passenger, and Messner sustained minor injuries and were transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center-East Norwegian Street. Tyler was not injured.

Troopers cited Murphy for the crash.
