Both sides in domestic incident charged
Two people were cited following a domestic incident in Tamaqua on Nov. 11.
Police were dispatched to 212 Center St. at 8:15 p.m. for a domestic incident in progress. At the scene they spoke with Timothy Grube, 52, and Bernadette Moulthrop, 44. Both said the argument started over Moulthrop sleeping until late in the afternoon. The argument turned physical.
He said she struck him in the face with an ashtray. She said he hit her on the back of her head. Both had bruises to match their claims and refused EMS treatment at the scene. Moulthrop said she was going to the hospital by private vehicle and would stop at the police station once she was released.
Grube was arraigned before on-call District Judge Anthony Kilker of Shenandoah on charges of simple assault and harassment. The judge set bail at $15,000. Unable to post the required 10 percent, Grube was lodged in the Schuylkill County prison in Pottsville.
Moulthrop never went to the hospital, nor did she go to the police station as directed.
A warrant has been issued for her arrest on charges of simple assault and harassment.
