Hit-and-run driver sought in Monroe

A driver who fled the scene of a two-vehicle crash in Monroe County on Wednesday is being sought.

State police at Fern Ridge said at 2:45 p.m., Samantha Defrancesco, of Albrightsville, driving a Toyota Corolla, made a left turn onto Sugar Hollow Road from a turnoff/shoulder adjacent from Warner Drive, to go north when her vehicle was struck in the rear by another vehicle, whose driver was also attempting to turn onto Sugar Hollow Road. After impact Defrancesco attempted to get information from the other driver but that driver fled the scene, last seen traveling north on Sugar Hollow Road toward Route 715.

The other driver was described as being a white female in her 40s, driving a red GMC or Chevrolet SUV. Defrancesco was not injured.
