Tamaqua woman cited for dog law violation

A Tamaqua woman has been cited for allowing her dog to run at large.

Tamaqua police were notified about a dog running loose in the area of Patterson Street on Dec. 3. The caller said the animal had almost been hit, several times, by traffic. The pooch appeared to be undernourished and the concerned caller had spoken to several residents of the area, who said that the pet was owned by Charles and Robyn Rex of 124 Patterson St.

Before calling the police the concerned woman went to the Rex home, where Robyn Rex shouted obscenities at her and told her the animal was always loose due to a hole in the fence.

Police cited Robyn Rex under a borough ordinance.
