Luzerne driver in Monroe crash

A Luzerne County driver was injured and cited for a two-vehicle in Monroe County on Monday.

State police at Fern Ridge said Tricia K. Passeri, 45, of Hazle Township, was driving a 2006 Toyota Prius northbound on Route 209 in Chestnuthill Township, about 11:25 a.m. and attempting a left turn onto Weir Lake Road when she pulled into the path of a southbound 2005 Subaru Outback driven by Shirley A. Costenbader, 73, of Kunkletown. The front of the Outback hit the passenger side front of the Prius.

Passeri was injured and taken to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, by West End ambulance. Costenbader was treated at the scene by ambulance personnel for a minor injury. Both vehicles had to be towed.

Troopers cited Passeri for vehicle turning left.
