Coaldale man cited for retail theft
Tamaqua Police cited Frederick B. Cross, 58, of 260 Fifth St. in Coaldale in connection with an incident at the M and S Hardware Store in Tamaqua on Dec. 4.
Cross entered the store shortly after 2 p.m. and took a PF coupling, valued at $7.99. He tried to leave the store without making payment, but was stopped by store personnel. He did offer to pay for the item after he was caught, as he had more than $61 in his pocket. The store's owners declined the offer and decided to prosecute.
Cross was cited for retail theft, his first offense.
