Drivers wanted for leaving crash scenes in Schuylkill
Two drivers who left the scene of crashes in Schuylkill County are being sought.
State police at Schuylkill Haven said the first crash occurred at 11 p.m. along Pottsville Street in the borough of Mechanicsville, just outside Pottsville, on Wednesday.
Police said a 2001 Dodge Dakota was driven westbound when the driver failed to negotiate a right curve in the road. The vehicle continued straight, left the road and traveled about 20 feet down an embankment and struck a tree. After impact the driver got out of the vehicle and fled the scene.
The second incident occurred on Friday about noon in the parking lot of the Fairlane Village Mall, in Norwegian Township, near the Grocery Outlet store. Troopers said a vehicle was backed out of a parking spot and struck a parked 2002 Ford Escort. The driver then left the scene without providing any information.
