Woman is charged with simple assault

A verbal altercation that turned into an assault resulted in Nichole Marie Bartik, 23, of New Tripoli, being arrested by state police at the Fogelsville barracks.

The incident happened at 1:03 a.m. Sunday at 7131 Herber Road, Lowhill Township.

Police said a 25-year-old New Tripoli man and Bartik were engaged in a verbal altercation, and as it ensued, the woman struck him several times in the face, resulting in minor injuries. Police said a 26-year-old New Tripoli man attempted to separate the accused and the victim and was struck in the face by the woman.
