Celebrating a century

Carrie Deebel, a resident at Bachert's Victorian Manor in Lehighton, is celebrating her 100th birthday.

Carrie was born in Ringtown on March 22, 1915.

She was married to Allen Deebel on June 17, 1934.

She has two children: Jean Lorah of Center Valley, and Jim Deebel of Lehighton.

She also has a sister, Dorthy Zimmerman of Ohio.

Carrie has six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She enjoyed quilting and baking and still loves to read and play Parcheesi.

A party in her honor will be held at the Beaver Run Rod and Gun Club.
