"This is the Moment: Songs and Lessons of Cancer Survivorship" will be performed this weekend at Allentown's Miller Symphony Hall.

"Although the treatment of cancer occurs in a clinical setting, the actual healing generally takes place outside of the doctor's office," says Dr. Rick Boulay, Chief of Gynecologic Oncology at the Lehigh Valley Health Network.

The process of establishing a new identity as a cancer survivor is complex, unique and often takes its cues from the environment around us.

"When my wife was diagnosed with leukemia, I found tremendous solace in music," explains Boulay, himself a classically trained singer.

"The combination of a beautiful melody and powerful lyric taps deeply inside me to a healing place."

Join Boulay for a special interactive presentation of song and story geared toward cancer survivors and those who love them.

"This is the Moment" explores powerful lessons of cancer survivorship: courage, spirituality, caregiving and the beauty of each moment.

Each lesson is beautifully underscored with songs in the style of Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban and Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Visual artwork exhibited by Healing through the Arts will complement the musical offering.

Boulay will perform "This is the Moment: Songs and Lessons of Cancer Survivorship" at Allentown's Miller Symphony Hall at 7 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday.

This interactive program, geared toward cancer survivors and their caregivers explores the many issues of survivorship including hopefulness, vulnerability, fear and spirituality through story and the beautifully expressive singing of Boulay.

Reserve your ticket early as last year's program sold out. Tickets are available through millersymphonyhall.org or by phone at 610-432-6715.

Don't miss this wonderfully healing and deeply moving program. Your $30 donation will support local and national cancer-related charities.

A $45 donation will include one of Boulay's previously recorded CDs: Hope, Peace, or Love.

A silent auction will also be available.

Doors will open 30 minutes before the performance for cocktails.

Dessert will be served during intermission.
