Seminar offered on bariatric surgery

Blue Mountain Health System bariatric surgeon Vitaly Sawyna will offer free seminars on weight loss surgery at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 20 and Feb. 10, and 6 p.m. Jan. 29 and Feb. 19. All sessions will be held in the third floor multipurpose room at the Palmerton Campus on 135 Lafayette Ave.

The bariatric surgery program can help individuals with severe obesity lose weight they have been unable to lose using other methods. Bariatric surgery is an option for people whose health and quality of life are being affected by severe obesity.

Weight loss surgery options including gastric bypass, lap-band and gastric sleeve will be discussed, and the surgeon will answer questions about the process and procedure.
