Celebrating 50 years of marriage, priesthood
Mrs. Matushka Lovey Ropitsky and the Very Rev. Paul Ropitsky
On May 17, St. Mary's Orthodox Church in Coaldale honored the Very Rev. Paul Ropitsky and Matushka Lovey Ropitsky on the occasion of his 50th year of ordination into the priesthood in 1965. It is also the 50th anniversary of their marriage.
Rev. Ropitsky was born in Mayfield. His wife was born in Olyphant.
They were married in All Saint's Orthodox Church in Olyphant on May 16, 1965. They have one son, Michael, of Michael's Photography in Frackville.
Rev. Ropitsky's first assignment was in Phillipsburg. He was then assigned to Holy Ascension Orthodox Church in Frackville for 32 years until he retired.
In 2007 he was attached to St. Mary's Orthodox Church in Coaldale where he continues to help and mentor.
