Meeting tonight
The Western Pocono Lions Club will meet at 7 p.m. today at the Old Mill Pizza Restaurant in Sciota.
Rotary speaker
The West End Rotary Club will have guests Rachel Ann Stalcoskie and Bruce Kolar, owners of Rachel Ann's Country Clips Pet Grooming, at the Thursday meeting.
Gwendolyn and the poodle Isolda will also be attending.
The club meets at 7:30 a.m. Thursdays at the Western Pocono Community Library in the community room.
Little League
The next regular meeting of the West End Little League has been moved to Tuesday at 7 p.m. Meetings are held at the Chestnuthill Park Building on Route 715 in Brodheadsville.
School clothing swap
The Pleasant Valley School District will have a clothing swap for families of the district's students from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Pleasant Valley Elementary cafeteria.
To participate, parents may bring standardized dress clothing, shoes, winter coats and boots in good condition to any of the district building front offices.
They are asked to launder all articles. When turning in articles, a voucher for the amount of clothing brought in will be issued, for example if two shirts, three pairs of pants and one coat are brought in, the voucher will reflect six items.
Clothing will be accepted for the swap through Friday.
On Saturday, families are invited to bring their vouchers to the PVE cafeteria, where they will be able to exchange the voucher for clothing, coats and shoes. All leftover clothing will be donated to the Cub Closet.
Anyone who does not wish to participate but has standardized dress clothing to donate is asked to consider giving to the Cub Closet.
PVI PAC meeting
The Pleasant Valley Intermediate School PAC meeting will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday.
School board
The Pleasant Valley School District Board of Education will meet at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Administrative Center in Brodheadsville.
Monroe Seniors
The menu for the Monroe Seniors meeting at the Zion Lutheran site in Brodheadsville includes meatball sandwich this Friday, crispy chicken next Wednesday and macaroni and cheese on Jan. 30.
For meal reservations, call one day in advance by 11 a.m. The suggested meal donation is $2. To make reservations call manage Dolores Casalaspro at 570-242-6770.
On Friday, the special presentation to the seniors, hyperthermia, will be given at 10:45 a.m.
Tapestry meets
Pleasant Valley Assembly of God Church's ladies group Tapestry will meet at 7:30 p.m. Friday. A donation is requested.

Congregational
meeting
Zion Lutheran Church in Brodheadsville, will hold its 152nd annual congregational meeting Sunday after the 10 a.m. worship service. That will be the only service that day.
Church business will include review of the proposed budget for 2015, election of council members, minor changes to the constitution and the election of a new slate of members for the 2015 nominating committee.
A soup luncheon will be served in the parish hall following the meeting.
Sunday school will meet at 9 a.m.
Double drive
The American Red Cross will be in the West End at two sites on Monday doing blood drives: McDonalds on Route 209 in Brodheadsville and the Kunkletown fire house.
Both drives are from 1 to 6 p.m.
West End GOP
The next regular meeting of the West End Republican Club will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at Cherry's Family Restaurant in Kresgeville.
The optional dinner is at 6 p.m.
Needle plyers
Zion Lutheran Church's Knit & Crochet Group will meet from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday.
Earlier meeting
The Western Pocono Lioness Club will begin the 2015 year with its Tuesday meeting, which will begin at the newly scheduled time of 6:30 p.m. at the American Legion in Gilbert.
The community is invited to attend to come and enjoy a piece of cake, a cup of coffee and see how to participate with the Lioness Club.
