Library news

The Tamaqua Public Library's Teen/Young Adult Book Club will meet at 6 p.m. March 16. The theme is "Exploring the World in Books." This month will concentrate on Ireland and St. Patrick.

New members are always welcome.

Rush taxes

Rush Township Dolores Walck has announced that her tax office will not open until March 25. Mailed tax payments will be accepted during this time.

A complete list of open dates, hours and closings can be found on the tax bills.

Computer classes

The Tamaqua Public Library offers free basic computer classes through the Seniors Training Seniors Program. The one-on-one instruction is offered throughout each week during normal library hours.

The classes are also available to the general public on a space available basis.

Zion Lewistown

Pastor Jim Williams will officiate at this Sunday's 10:30 a.m. service in Zion Church in the Lewistown Valley. Sunday school classes will be held at 9:15 a.m.

Activities for next week include: Tuesday, fundraiser committee meets at 6:30 p.m., preschool board meets at 7:30 p.m.; Thursday, Bible study session at 12:30 p.m., Confirmation class meets at 6:30 p.m., Valley Christian Pre-School Open House from 6 to 8 p.m.

Volunteers are needed at 9 a.m. this Saturday to set up for a candy making session.
