What about Loyalty Day?

Dear Editor,

I know May 1 is celebrated under different names and in many countries.

However, like many other people I didn't know it is Loyalty Day in the United States.

I learned something new today. Such as the president is to make a proclamation that all flags are to be flown and that schools are to have a program on the country and the flag as should military and veteran organizations.

What I'd like to know is why isn't this going on? Have we become a people who don't care about our flag or country? When Ike was president he made a proclamation and Congress passed a bill that all presidents should do the same. Next May 1 let's do this!
