Woman cited for causing disturbance at hospital
A Lansford woman was cited by Coaldale Police after she caused a disturbance at St. Luke's Hospital-Miners Campus on April 3.
Officers were dispatched to the medical facility at 5:13 p.m. for a disturbance in progress. At the hospital, they spoke with Nicole Oplinger, 34, of 13 W. Patterson St., Lansford. Oplinger said her husband was being treated in the emergency room and she wanted to go home, but he refused to allow her to drive his car. Hospital staff refused to allow her inside the facility, due to the way she had been yelling and cursing in the emergency and waiting rooms.
She then went out to the parking lot and began attacking her husband's vehicle.
The husband continued to refuse to give her the keys to the car, but did give them to the officer to allow for the retrieval of her purse. She was cited for disorderly conduct and transported to her home courtesy of Lansford Police.
