Fire damages truck in Schuylkill

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported a vehicle was extensively damaged when a fire erupted in the engine compartment.

Troopers said the incident occurred on Tuesday in Barry Township. Tracy A. Snyder, 48, of Pitman, was driving a 1999 Ford F250 truck northbound on Taylorsville Road when the fire erupted. Troopers said the entire front end of the truck became engulfed in flames. Volunteers from the Lavelle and Pitman fire companies responded to extinguish the blaze.

Snyder was not injured.
