Traffic stop leads to drug, other charges

Published May 06. 2015 04:00PM

A Tamaqua man faces multiple charges following a vehicle stop in Tamaqua on April 26.

An officer on patrol saw an expired inspection sticker on a Chevrolet Blazer and stopped the vehicle in the area of Stadium Hill and Spruce Street. The driver was identified as Casey Richard Snyder, 34, of 16 Clay St., Tamaqua.

Snyder told the officer he didn't have his license, registration or proof of insurance with him, but a records check determined that Snyder's driver's license had been suspended for driving under the influence. During a consent search of the vehicle, officers found a small metal smoking pipe with burnt marijuana residue.

Snyder faces charges of driving with a DUI suspended license, having an expired inspection and possession of marijuana.
