Teen cited after McAdoo stop
A teenage boy has been cited by McAdoo police following a traffic stop on March 25.
An officer was on patrol at 2:06 a.m. when a red Dodge with a young driver attracted his attention. The officer initiated a traffic stop and spoke with the driver, who admitted he did not have a driver's license.
A records check indicated the teen had a learner's permit, which expired on March 1. There were several passengers in the car, none having a valid license.
There was also the odor of marijuana in the car.
The driver consented to having the vehicle searched. Officers found a plastic bag with marijuana on the floor under the driver's seat. A glass pipe was found on the rear passenger side floor.
The teen was cited for possession of marijuana.
