Tamaqua man cited for assault

A Tamaqua man was arrested after a domestic incident on May 18.

Tamaqua police were dispatched to Market Street at 8:43 p.m. after a neighbor called to report hearing a woman screaming for help. The cries for help were heard by officers as they arrived. A male could be seen inside a home, holding a woman by the arms and forcing her into a corner.

The officer was able to make contact and identified the man as Anthony D'Alonzo, 47, of 19 Market St. The woman took the opportunity to leave the home with her child.

D'Alonzo was charged with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct.
