St. John's

On Wednesday at 7 p.m., St. John's Lutheran Church, 1 E. Abbott St., Lansford, will hold an informal worship: a spiritual, peaceful evening service with Holy Communion.

All are welcome to this relaxed, brief musical evening prayer.

Feed the People hosts a dinner from 5-6:30, followed by a brief adult Bible study at 6:30 for all who wish to participate.

Reading program

Panther Valley Public Library announces 2015 summer reading program

The Panther Valley Public Library presents "Every Hero Has a Story!" during their summer library program.

Children will explore heroes in the community, animal heroes, heroes in storybooks and learn how they too can become heroes.

The Summer Reading Program is open to children ages 3-8 with story time, special programs, prizes and more.

Registration for Every Hero Has a Story begins on Tuesday.

Space is limited and all programs are free.

Summit Hill

Golden Agers

The Annual Memorial Mass was celebrated at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Summit Hill.

The Rev. James Burdess, spiritual adviser for the Panther Valley Golden Age Club, was the celebrant and welcomed all present.

Eleven past members were remembered at the liturgy.

Following the Mass a social was held at St. John's Slovak Lutheran Church.

Hospitality for the month of June will be Norma Lee Burke and Ruth Ann Feane.

There will be no meeting on Memorial Day.

The next scheduled meeting will be June 8.
