Jim Thorpe couple celebrates 50 years

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hyska of Jim Thorpe will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on July 18. They were married in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jim Thorpe.

Mrs. Hyska is the former Sheila Snyder, daughter of the late John and Lucy Snyder of Jim Thorpe. She is the owner/cosmetologist at Sheila's Cutting and Styling in Jim Thorpe.

Mr. Hyska is the son of Alberta Hyska of Fairless Hills and the late Leo Hyska. He is a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

The couple has three children: Lisa, wife of Peter Williams of Jim Thorpe; Michael Hyska of Lehighton, husband of Missy; and Kimberly Hyska of Richmond, Virginia, and her fiance, Chad Green.

They also have five grandchildren, Ryan, Amber, Vanessa, Aryan and Raeanne; and two great-grandchildren, Anna and Grace.
