Area lass takes first place in Irish piano competition

Aisling George, daughter of Dean and Ellen George of Albrightsville, placed first in an Irish Festival Piano Competition.

A student of Maestro Randall Douglas Perry of Jim Thorpe, Aisling participated in the Rockland County Feis.

Feis is the Irish word for festival or competition.

There were competitions in Irish dance, music and singing, as well as games and races for the children.

Aisling won first place in the beginner piano division.

The competition was held on Sunday.
