Named to dean's list
Kaitlyn Matula, daughter of Joseph and Kathleen Matula of Lansford, received academic honors at Alvernia University by making the university dean's list for the spring semester of 2014.
Matula is a freshman majoring in business management.
She earned a 3.60 grade point average for the spring semester.
To quality for the dean's list, students must have a semester grade point average of 3.5 or better and must be enrolled in at least 12 semester hours.
"A place on the dean's list is one that must be earned. It is a mark of real distinction, a strong symbol of the learning that a student can achieve through dedication and perseverance," said Dr. Joseph Cicala, Alvernia's vice president for university life and dean of students. "All of us here at Alvernia are proud of the efforts and the accomplishments of the students on our dean's list."
