Volunteers needed
The Tamaqua Community Arts Center is looking for volunteers to help distribute fliers throughout Tamaqua. The only requirements are to be able to walk or drive through to deliver printed fliers to local businesses.

Health fair
The Tamaqua-Panther Valley SU310 Girl Scouts will be holding a Health Fair for girls in kindergarten through 12th grade on Saturday.
The free event will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. at the West Penn Fire Company. and will provide the opportunity to learn about Girl Scouts and enjoy learning how to be more healthy.

Zion Lutheran
A free light dinner will be offered following the Saturday evening service in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. The service will begin at 5:30 p.m.
The public is welcome.
A Peach Social will be held from 4 to 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 27. In addition to peaches and ice cream, other food items and baked goods will be available. Take outs will also be available.
Field to fork
Schuylkill County Master Gardeners will offer a free learning experience for county residents to learn more about how vegetables go from the fields to the dinner table.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at Hope Hill Lavender Farm, 2375 Panther Valley Road in Pottsville.
The event will feature things such as vegetable container gardening and crafting gourd birdhouses.

Zion Lewistown
This Sunday's service for Zion Church in the Lewistown Valley will be held at 10:30 a.m. at Leiby's Grove on Mountain Road. The Rev. Jim Williams will officiate.
The annual church picnic, featuring a time of fellowship, food and games, will be held after the service.
Also on Sunday, a blood drive will be held from noon to 4 p.m. at Steigerwalt's Church of God in Orwigsburg.
St. Peter's Union
Sunday worship services are held at 9 a.m. in St. Peter's Union Church, Mantzville. This Sunday's service will be held outdoors and will include the installation of Sunday school teachers and officers. Sunday school classes are held at 10:15 a.m.
Activities for next week include: Tuesday, prayer group meets at 5 p.m.; Thursday, senior choir rehearsal at 7:30 p.m.
