Penn State Master Gardener program accepting applications
Penn State Extension in Carbon County is accepting applications for the 2015 Penn State Extension Master Gardener program.
The program consists of a volunteer training course designed to provide experienced home gardeners with information and skills necessary to share experience and knowledge with others.
Weekly Tuesday classes will be held from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Oct. 14 through March 17 at various locations and the Carbon County Environmental Education Center.
In exchange for instruction, candidates must agree to volunteer 50 hours back to the the county extension office.
There is a program fee of $175 to cover the cost of training materials and expenses. Applications are being accepted through Sept. 21.
