Carbon County Art League, Dimmick Memorial Library team up for fall art exhibit
The Carbon County Art League has announced that its fall art exhibit will be sponsored by the Dimmick Memorial Library in Jim Thorpe, and will be held at the library's annex at 58 Broadway.
The show will run from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Oct. 4-5, and Oct. 11-12 during Jim Thorpe's annual Fall Foliage weekends.
An opening reception is planned for noon until 2 p.m. Oct. 4.
The public is invited and both the show and reception are free.
New this year, the art league is extending an invitation to all high school students who are in an art program and have a teacher's recommendation to enter the show.
Also, high school students with a proven interest in art and parental permission may join the art league and be eligible for all events and programs offered by the league.
Fall Foliage weekends in Jim Thorpe are major events bringing in people from all over.
This is a great opportunity for artists to have their work seen by hundreds of people.
CCAL membership is not required for this show, which is open to residents of Pennsylvania who are 18 years of age or older or meet the requirements above for high school students.
