St. Matthew's UCC
St. Matthew's UCC will have two worship services on Sunday, conducted by the Rev. Suzanne Brooks-Cope, pastor.
This Sunday, the regular worship service is at 9 a.m. and will be held in the picnic grove (weather permitting) with the members of the youth Camp Grove leading the worship service.
Sunday School for all ages is at 10:30 a.m.
Then at noon it is The Family Table. This relaxed casual service features Randy Cramer and The Path band and singers and country music. Dress is casual. Communion will be served.
Historical society
The Eldred Township Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16 at the Eldred Township municipal building. If you attend, bring a mystery item in a bag.
Clues are given as to what old item is in the bag and the others have to guess.
Bible study
St. Matthew's adult Bible study class, "Discovering the Bible" will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Suzanne Brooks-Cope and Dan Wunder. This is open to anyone. To learn more, call 610-381-2442.
Mrs. Bush's
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday Mrs. Bush's Personal Care Home will have a Car Cruise and Chinese Auction to benefit Alzheimer's Association. There will be music, refreshments, bake sale and more.
As part of the History of Monroe County Series, Jim Werkheiser will give a presentation at Mrs. Bush's at 2 p.m. Thursday with the topic of "Clara Adams," a world-renowned air traveler of the 1920s and 1930s, but practically a stranger in her hometown of Tannersville.
Both events are open to the public.
Exercising seniors
There is a low-impact exercise class for those over 55 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., every Tuesday and Thursday at the Kunkletown Volunteer Fire Company.
