Not really progress

Dear Editor,

A number of people have said the proposed PennEast pipeline through Carbon County represents progress, and "you can't stop progress."

I am reminded of a statement by Russell Baker: "Usually, terrible things that are done with the excuse that progress requires them are not really progress at all, but just terrible things."
