Chestnut Ridge Seniors

The Chestnut Ridge Seniors will meet at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 9 at the Kunkletown Volunteer Fire Co. Bring a bag lunch. They will be playing bingo.

Blood drive

The American Red Cross will be holding a blood drive and double red cells drive from 1-6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 29.

Supervisors' meeting

The Eldred Township Board of Supervisors' reorganization meeting is 7:30 p.m., Monday, Jan. 6 at the municipal building.

The following positions are available for appointment. If interested, please call the secretary at 610-381-4252, ext. 1:

Auditor, two-year term

Auditor, six-year term

The duty of the auditors is to set the wage rate for any working supervisors and must meet at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 7.

Planning Commission, two positions to fill four-year terms.

Duties include review and forward to the board of supervisors submitted subdivision and land development plans. Meetings are held on the third Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

Zoning Hearing Board, one position to fill a three-year term

Duties are to hear and make decisions regarding any submitted zoning appeals. Hearings are scheduled when they are submitted.
