Historical society receives grant

The Northern Lehigh Historical Society has acknowledged the receipt of a $500 grant from the Henry L. Mickley/Mable S. Fravel Charitable Trust.

The funds will be used to help defray the cost of painting the pavilion at the western approach to the Trout Run Covered Bridge along the Slate Heritage Trail.

Lions Club

The Slatington Lions Club will hold meeting at the Moose at 7 p.m. Jan. 21.

The speaker will be Jim Evans on Prostrate Help.

Lions Eugene Mayberry (Jan. 18), Craig Weist (Jan. 19), Jeff Weidner (Jan. 20), Ed Hartman (Jan. 20), and Robert Kresge (Jan. 27) are celebrating birthdays.
