Carbon man sentenced to serve 30 days for DUI

Joseph Michael Rayno Jr., 49, of Weatherly was sentenced on April 17 by President Judge William Baldwin to serve 30 days in the county jail, on work release, beginning at 9 a.m. May 2.

The sentence is for Rayno's conviction of driving under the influence, highest rate of alcohol level, which was filed on April 3, 2013, by state police at Frackville. The charge stems from an incident on Nov. 3, 2012.

Prosecutors dropped charges of general impairment DUI and careless driving.

It was Rayno's first offense.

Also on April 17, Baldwin found Brandon Houser of Tamaqua guilty of driving without a valid license. Houser must pay the costs of prosecution and fines.

The offense happened on Dec. 27, 2013. Houser was charged by state police at Schuylkill Haven.

Judge Charles Miller has dissolved a bench warrant for Jason P. Tessitore of Tamaqua.

Tessitore, 30, was charged by McAdoo police on Sept. 18, 2013, with use/possession of drug paraphernalia. He had been free on $10,000 unsecured bail.

His bail is now reinstated under the conditions that he live at 425 Railroad St., Tamaqua, and pay $266.50 for bench warrant and transportation costs.
