The Tamaqua Preceptor Alpha Upsilon chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority will hold its annual Community Easter Egg Hunt Saturday at the Bungalow Park. Activities will begin at noon. The hunt is open to children between the ages of 1-10.
The March 12 meeting was held at the home of Donna Sterling, who presented a program on the history of aprons, noting how styles have changed through the years based on fashion and function. She also shared memories of her grandmothers and presented members with individual, vintage aprons.
The meeting included an election of officers, seating Wanda Keefer as president; Lori Schmerfeld, vice president; Sue Hummel, treasurer; Marie Umbriac, recording secretary; and Cathy Santee, corresponding secretary.
Candy and snacks were collected to be sent to Schmerfeld's son, Jonathan, a member of the U.S. Air Force on active duty in Kuwait.
