Home food preservation workshop set for June 25, 26
Many people today are interested in growing and/or buying local foods and want to preserve them for use throughout the year.
"Yes I Can" is an introductory workshop providing today's recommendations on how to safely can seasonal garden produce and specialty items.
It includes costs, equipment, how to use a pressure canner and boiling water bath canner, types of pack, safe methods and procedures, storage, and resources. Dial gauge canners can be tested for accuracy for those who bring the lid (excluding All American dial gauge canners).
This workshop is designed for beginning canners who want to learn how to use a pressure canner with up-to-date procedures. There is a cost for the workshop, with a reduced rate for two adults from the same household (one packet of information).
