A dream come true
Looking for that dream dress for an upcoming prom, wedding or special event, but you don't have a king's ransom to spend?
Well, you're in luck.
The sixth annual Dream Come True Prom and Wedding Dress sale takes place from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Penn's Peak on Maury Road in Penn Forest Township, just outside of Jim Thorpe.
According to Julianne Farina, marketing and public relations coordinator for Blue Ridge Communications and the event's coordinator, there are close to 300 dresses to choose from. Most of the dresses are only $10.
They will accept cash only for any purchases.
In addition to the dresses, Farina says there is also a variety of shoes and other accessories, including purses and jewelry.
"Last year we raised over $2,000 for Dream Come True, Blue Ridge Chapter which is amazing!" says Farina. "We couldn't have such a successful event without the wonderful people in our community who donate their beautiful dresses."
Dressing rooms will be available to try on dresses.
All proceeds from the annual dress sale are donated to the Dream Come True, Blue Ridge Chapter. The organization helps fulfill the dreams of children who are seriously, chronically or terminally ill.
If you don't have the need for any gowns or dresses, but would like to help make a dream come true for some lucky child, consider making a monetary donation.
You can send a check to Dream Come True, Blue Ridge Chapter, P.O. Box 344, Palmerton, PA 18071 or visit http://dreamcometrue-brc.org/ to make an online donation with a credit card.
