District 5 CYO names winners of arts and crafts competition
District 5 Catholic Youth Organization held its annual Arts and Crafts Show on Sunday at SS. Peter and Paul School, Lehighton. The event featured 151 entries.
Phil Liszka is the CYO director.
Students from Our Lady of the Angels Academy, Lansford; St. John Neumann Regional School, Palmerton; and SS. Peter and Paul Catholic School, Lehighton, competed for first, second and third grade prizes.
In the art category, winners were:
Kindergarten: William Behun, OLOAA, first; Luke Matsko, second; and Carter Hubbell, third, both St. John
First and second grade: Stephen Behun, first; and Dylan Newton, second; both at OLOAA; and Maximus J. Fitzpatrick, third, Ss. Peter and Paul
Third and fourth grade: Dana Delorey, first; Madison Mahler, second; and Emma Martinez, third, all of St. John
Fifth and sixth grade: Kelci Bubser, first, St. John; Katie Aaron, second, Ss. Peter and Paul; and Braden Bates, third, St. John
Seventh and eighth grade: Ji Young Choi, first, Ss. Peter and Paul; Beatrice Petschauer, second, OLOAA; and Natalie Matsko, third, St. John.
In the craft category, winners were:
Kindergarten: Ruby Walters, first, Ethan Mendes, second, and Eliena Apollo, third; all of St. John
First and second grade: Megan Matsko, first; St. John; and Albin Petschauer, second; and Stephen Behun, third, both of OLOAA
Third and fourth grade: Shannon Dougherty, first, St. John; Sadie Trubilla, second, and Joshua Shelton, third, OLOAA
Fifth and sixth grade: Jacob Shelton, first, Gabrielle Greek, second; and Ava Kosciolek, third, all of OLOAA
Seventh and eighth grade: Sam Arnold, first, St. John; Mary Wilhelm, second, Ss. Peter and Paul; and Valerie Hans, third, St. John.
First, second and third place winners of the group project were St. John Neumann Regional School, Palmerton, for their project "Yummy Fruit."
