Schuylkill 'royalty' issue invite for this year's fair

The 2013 Schuylkill County Fair Queen Rachael Naradko of Port Carbon, Little Miss Rebecca Lascala of Seltzer, and Princess Haley Obrzut of Mahanoy City, paid a visit to the Schuylkill County Commissioners' public meeting Wednesday.

Members of the royal court were on hand to invite people to the Schuylkill County Fair, which runs from July 28 through Aug. 2 at the fairgrounds along Route 895 in Summit Station.

The theme for this year's fair is Treasuring the Memories of Our Roots.

The fair will feature food, entertainment, livestock and other exhibits, rides, contests, crafts and games.

The Tim Marchetto opens on July 28; the Twitty Fever Band on July 29; the Jesse Wade Gang on July 30; John Cafferty and Michael Antunes of the Beaver brown band with Hybrid Ice on July 31; Exile on Aug. 1; and Brandon Bennet on Aug. 2.

General admission to the fair is $8 per person.
