Derek Smarr and Laura Kelshaw
The engagement of Laura Kelshaw, daughter of Gary and Mary Kelshaw of Jim Thorpe, to Derek Smarr, son of Joseph and Debora Smarr of Tamaqua, has been announced by her parents.
The bride-to-be holds a bachelor of science degree in elementary education from Misericordia University. She is employed by St. Jerome Regional School, Tamaqua, as a second-grade teacher.
The prospective bridegroom is currently completing a degree in electronic engineering technology at Lincoln Technical Institute.
The couple are planning a wedding for the summer of 2015.
