Golden Agers

The second annual picnic of the Panther Valley Golden Agers will be held on Monday, Aug. 12, beginning at noon at the No. 9 Mine grounds. Members may arrive earlier to take part in scheduled activities.

Members celebrating birthdays in the months of May through August will be recognized at the next scheduled meeting to be held Aug. 26.

Nesquehoning

Free haircuts

The Meed's Methodist Church, 126 West Catawissa St., Nesquehoning, has announced that the free children's haircuts scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 10 has been changed to Tuesday, Aug. 13 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

VFW Ladies Auxiliary

The regular monthly meeting of the Ladies Auxiliary to Nesquehoning Memorial VFW Post 8008 will be held Tuesday, Aug. 13 at 6:30 p.m. at the Post Home. President Ellen Driesbach will preside at the session.

All members are invited to attend and are reminded that dues for 2014 are now being collected.
