Named Weatherly Senior of the month

Shannon Sarosky, daughter of John and Susan Sarosky, Weatherly, has been named Senior of the Month for November at Weatherly Area High School.

Shannon is the co-captain of the girls' volleyball team, the president of the yearbook committee, and secretary of the Weatherly Area High School's chapter of the National Honor Society. She is also involved in dual enrollment courses, Hazleton Junior Leadership, and the Hazleton CAN-DO Student board of directors.

In the community, Shannon is an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church. She was a student for 10 years at Joan Sacco Dance Studio, where she studied ballet, tap, and jazz dancing. Shannon has donated her hair to the nonprofit organization "Children with Hair Loss," and she is a blanketeer for Project Linus, a national organization that provides handmade blankets to children in hospitals, shelters and social service agencies.
