St. John Lutheran
Tonight at 7 p.m., St. John's Lutheran Church, 1 E. Abbott St., Lansford, will hold an informal worship. This will be a spiritual, peaceful, evening service with Holy Communion. All are welcome to this relaxed, brief, musical, evening prayer. For those who wish to come early, a free simple supper is served at 6 p.m., followed by a brief adult Bible study at 6:30. Hydrant flushing
The Summit Hill Water Authority will be flushing hydrants the week of Sept. 23-27. You may experience low water pressure and/or water discoloration at this time.
Coaldale
9/11 services
On Wednesday, Sept. 11, the VFW Post #6982 and Ladies VFW Auxiliary of Coaldale is hosting a candlelight memorial service at the VFW Post Home, 1 E. Ridge St., Coaldale.
The ceremony will begin at dusk, 8 p.m.
The agenda includes: opening prayer by the Rev. Bennet, remarks from VFW Quartermaster Jeremiah Barkman, and bagpipe music performed by Mark Atkinson of Pottsville.
Light refreshments will be served. All are welcome to socialize in the club at the conclusion of the ceremony.
In the event of rain, the Memorial Service will be held inside the VFW Post Home.
Coaldale UMC
There will be a change in time for Sunday worship services in Coaldale United Methodist Church. Effective Sept. 15, the Sunday worship service will be at 10:30 a.m. instead of 11 a.m. Pastor Elisandra Garcia will preside.
Lions to meet
The Coaldale Lions will meet on Tuesday, Sept. 17 at the Viennese Villa in town. The meeting will start at 5:45 p.m. All members are asked to attend. President Robert E. Ames will preside.
