The Gathering

The Gathering will celebrate its 10th annual event at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Trout Run Covered Bridge, Seventh Street, Slatington.

There will be food, beverages, and crafts all day; hay wagon rides; entertainment; Bier Garten; and a fireworks "Grand Finale."

Parking is available at the Bob Labold Maintenance Building, along West Church Street.

Proceeds benefit the Slatington, Washington Township "Slate Heritage Trail."

Slatington Lions Club

The Slatington Lions Club will hold a board meeting at the Skeet Club at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9.

The Lions Club would like to extend its thanks to everyone who helped make the car show successful. There were 462 registered cars. Special thanks to Pete and Karen Papay for hosting the aftershow party.

Lions Rodney Cressman (Oct. 1), John Parry (Oct. 8), Lloyd Hopkins, Jr. (Oct. 10), and Chip Hausman (Oct. 11) are celebrating birthdays.
