Harvest Home

St. Matthew's UCC will be celebrating Harvest Home on Sunday, Sept. 29 at its 9 a.m. worship service. Everyone is invited to offer thanks for God's blessings with this year's bountiful harvest. You can bring nonperishable and perishable items for the display. Everything will then be donated to Pleasant Valley Ecumenical Network (PVEN). If you cannot be there on Sunday but would like to donate items, drop them off at the church on Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. or Sunday morning from 8-11:30 a.m.

Donations needed

St. Matthew's UCC Laymen's Fellowship is looking for donations of items/gift cards/cash for its Chinese auction for their bazaar and baked goods for its bake sale. Call Loretta Hawk at (610) 381-3037 or drop items off at the church during office hours of Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. or Friday, Oct. 11 or Saturday, Oct. 12.

Halloween parade

The Eldred Township Halloween Parade will be on Sunday, Oct. 20, rain date, Oct. 27 at 1 p.m. Treats are guaranteed to preregistered applicants only and the registration deadline is Oct. 13. Registration is free but the committee would like if each participant would bring a nonperishable food item to be donated to PVEN.

Even if you don't register, you can still walk in the parade but your costume will not be judged.

The categories are: Most Original; Cutest; Ugliest; Best Pair; Best Group; Best Float. There will be three cash prizes per category.

Registration forms are available at the Eldred Township municipal building, Kunkletown Post Office and Kunkletown General Store.

Exercising seniors

There is a low-impact exercise class for those over 55 at the Kunkletown Volunteer Fire Company every Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30-10 a.m.
