Veteran thankful for kind gesture

Dear Editor:

On Sept. 7, my wife and I went for breakfast at the Whitehall Diner.

When we were done eating, a waitress came up to us and she put a piece of paper down on the table given to her from someone else that said "Thank you for your service. Breakfast is on me. A fellow veteran."

As a veteran, it's nice to see such kindness still exists.
