Bloodmobile
An American Red Cross Bloodmobile will be held in Tamaqua from 1-6 p.m. Friday at St. John United Church of Christ, Pine and Biddle streets. The church is sponsoring the Bloodmobile.
Anyone 17 or older, who weighs at least 110 pounds and is in general good health is eligible to donate blood.

Township budget
The Schuylkill Township Board of Supervisors tentatively adopted a 2014 budget at the Nov. 6 meeting. The budget will be available for public inspection until Nov. 26 and is expected to be adopted at the December supervisors meeting.
Any township resident interested in viewing the budget may call 570-668-1039, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday, to schedule an appointment.
The next regular township meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Dec. 4.
Board of Health
The November meeting of the Tamaqua Board of Health took place at the Tamaqua Municipal Building with Randolph Gormley, Earl Boettger, James Gormley, Shirley Becker, health officer Judith Hadesty R.N and health enforcement officer Mitch Geist in attendance.
Geist reported conducting a re-inspection at the Happy Endings Inc. He also received and adjusted seven complaints during October: two buildings condemned as unfit for human habitation; and five trash issues. There were no cases of reportable diseases for the month.
The board meets the first Wednesday of each month, at 10 a.m., in the Tamaqua Municipal Building, 320 E. Broad St., Tamaqua.
Senior citizens
The Tamaqua Senior Citizens group met Nov. 7 with 60 members in attendance. Vice President Nancy Gerber conducted the business session. Jacque Patrick provided the invocation "Our Thoughts of Helen Steiner."
Leona Machay was added to the sick list. Mike Trubilla took over the duties of bingo caller. The Christmas party will be held on Dec. 12.
The meeting concluded with cards and social games.
This week's meeting will include an installation of officers.
The seniors meet at 1 p.m. every Thursday, at the Masonic Lodge, located on SR54 (East) in Hometown. Anyone 55 or older is welcome to join. The center is handicap accessible.
SS. Peter and Paul
The Youth Choir of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church will begin rehearsals this Wednesday, Nov. 13. Rehearsals will be held from 6 to 7 p.m.
The adult choir rehearses from 7 to 8 p.m. on Wednesdays.
The parish Holy Name Society will meet at 8 p.m. this Thursday. The meeting will be preceded by a Mass at 7:30 p.m.
